Open bay water on the north side of Cap de Creus, taken out in the middle of the badia rather than off the town beach — the Tramuntana pours down off the Serra de Rodes and reaches the shoreline gusty and bent, while a few hundred metres out it lines up hard and steady. It blows N to NNW, straight offshore, so the fetch across the bay is short and the water stays flat in all but the heaviest days; the swell window is the narrow NNE-to-E slot past the cape and very little gets through it. A wind spot before a surf one: kite, wing and windsurf, launching off the harbour beach and the Platja de la Ribera.
